About Wyman Dillon - Our People

Management Team

Carolyn Williams – Project Director

Carolyn is an associate director of Wyman Dillon and has been with the company since 1985. She has an Honours Degree in Computational and Statistical Science and is also a full member of the Market Research Society.

Carolyn oversees the project management team and has direct input into all of our market research projects.

Carolyn has managed many projects including work for the National Assembly for Wales, Reader’s Digest and Department for Work and Pensions. She has extensive project management experience and skills and has worked with a variety of clients in both the Public Sector and across commercial industries.

Linda Dare - Business Director

Linda is on the management board and has been with Wyman Dillon since 1995. Linda manages the day to day running of the company, not only in terms of its general administration processes but also the key business areas of human resources, Quality Management and Service Standards systems (ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 20252:2006) and identifying the needs of the business both present and future.

Linda has a BA Honours degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Linda is the main contact for new business and client liaison and welcomes your queries or questions at any time.

Iain Douglas - Project Manager

Iain joined Wyman Dillon in 1993 after completing a BSc in Industrial Management.

Iain is responsible for the day to day running of many projects the company manages. He oversees the work of the Data Processing and Preparation teams and works closely with Carolyn on key accounts, such as Nissan, Bristol City Council and the Ministry of Defence.

Pam Ball - Field Research & Fulfilment Manager

Pam Ball has been with the company since 1990 and has over 20 years experience of managing and supervising market research fieldwork.

Pam is responsible for organising our face to face and telephone interviewing projects including recruitment of participants for qualitative fieldwork, whether face to face or online. She manages our network of over 500 national fieldworkers, personally interviewing all of our fieldwork supervisors.

Pam is a full Member of the Market Research Society.

Richard Long - Applications Developer

Richard has been with the company since 1998. He has a BTEC HND in Computing/Software Engineering and a BSc (Hons) degree in Business Information Systems.

Richard is highly computer literate and has experience in the development of information analysis and database management systems, including automated data processing and reporting solutions.

Richard is an experienced project manager of online research, including programming in several survey software packages, and has run projects for Ofgem, Atos Healthcare (Department of Work and Pensions) and The Oxford Group (HR Consultancy).

Carol Pople – Data Processing Manager

Carol manages our in-house data entry and processing department, organising and overseeing the work of over 40 data entry operators and the coding team. She ensures that staffing levels and experience are matched with workflow volumes and complexity, making our company very flexible and responsive to clients’ needs.

Responsible for training operators and monitoring our rigorous ongoing quality standards, Carol is a data preparation expert with 25 years experience in managing these processes and has been with company since 1987.

Management Team

Allan Douglas - Managing Director

Allan joined Wyman Harris Research in 1983 and took majority ownership of the company in 1987. In the same year the company acquired Dillon Computing.

A specialist in data collection and analysis, initially in the area of transportation and economic modelling, Allan widened the scope over the years to focus on market research and direct marketing projects, for clients in both the public and private sectors.

He has considerable professional qualifications and memberships including a BSc in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Highways and Transportation Planning, Member of the Chartered Institute of Engineering, Full Member of MRS and Member of the Institute of Direct Marketing.

Allan is still involved in the running of the business, but increasingly has a more consultative role, adding expertise where needed.

Peter Deacon - IT Director

Peter was a founding director of Dillon Computing, which was established in 1979 to provide software development solutions and services. Peter built on the business, improving and increasing the range of services until the company was acquired by Wyman Harris, and in 2000 re-branded as Wyman Dillon.

Peter is a highly experienced software designer and has developed software to provide in-house processing of survey data, improving the efficiencies of data capture, data validation, table production and reporting activities.

Peter has provided bespoke data management programmes, often finding an original solution to clients’ requirements and difficulties.

Peter is now taking more of a consulting role within the company, but is always available to meet new challenges.
